Hello StuntMonkeys,
welcome to my endeavor to short-circuit the amount of time I'm spending on Facebook and draw our collective attention back to what matters; drawing. I won't neglect my other blog Hilarity Ensues (I've SO much uploading to do there before even beginning to consider the commentary for the pages)...and this new blog will give me something digestible and fun. Know that whenI say "Planes", this will include sailplanes which are part of submarines ( I love drawing subs, too ). That's it. Hope I can keep you interested. Let me know what you think.

This has the feel of one of those old South Shore Transit posters from the 30's. You can find them in the Historical Society here in Chicago; it's the color and suggestion of "exotic vistas" i think, combined with the two-color textures.
He'll probably never get to have a ride on a plane...just shoving their components around. Hell, maybe he flies his own!
The German 'taube' (dove) was so sinister. Beautiful craft, but notorious for being one of the first terror weapons of the last century. These planes were actually single-winged "warpers"...I was fixed on the scalloping of the winged upper surface and added the shadowed lower wing for support.
Planes are patient things. This sets me to thinking of Miyazaki's Porco Rosso...
